Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) would like to wish everyone a happy holiday! Please read below for information regarding parking and transportation during final exams, and the Winter Term and break.
Parking restrictions will remain in effect on campus during the Winter Term and break. A valid UT permit or payment of fees is required to park. If you do not have a UT permit and need access to campus during the Winter Term and break, you can purchase a Winter Break Permit online. This permit is valid from Dec. 13, 2022 through Jan. 7, 2023, and allows for parking in the Longhorn and "C" Lots as well as the East Campus Garage (ECG). Note: Some lots may close for official university events.
Don't be late for finals or work. The UT Shuttles are operating at reduced service levels for finals and winter break through Friday, Dec. 30, 2022. UT Shuttles will resume full-service levels starting Monday, Jan. 9, 2023. See the Shuttle Service Level Calendar for more information. If you need to get to campus when shuttles are not running, many CapMetro routes follow existing UT Shuttle routes and provide access to main and PRC campus.
Sure Walk provides walking companions and rides upon request between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. UT Night Rides provides a Lyft away from campus between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. The last night to request a Sure Walk for the semester is Dec. 12, 2022, with service resuming Jan. 6, 2023. Additionally, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Sure Walk will be closed the evening of Jan. 16, 2023 and resume service the evening of Jan. 17, 2023. UT Night Rides will continue to operate throughout the Winter Term and break.
Be a proactive parker! If you leave your car unattended in a lot for days at a time, lock your doors. Leaving valuables visible from the outside of your vehicle is an invitation for burglary. Visit or move your vehicle occasionally.
To protect your bike over winter break:
- Take your bike home or store it inside at a secure location like a friend’s house.
- If you leave your bike on campus, make sure it is double-locked and parked on a UT designated bike rack.
- Register your bike online for FREE to improve the chances of getting your bike back if it is impounded, lost, or stolen.
