Parking and Traffic Disruptions for the Weekend of April 22-23; towing to be enforced

The university is hosting several events that will affect parking and traffic this weekend Friday and Saturday, April 22-23.

Parking Restrictions and Towing

All vehicles, including motorcycles and university vehicles, must be removed from the locations listed below no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 22. Any vehicles that have not relocated by this time will be subject to relocation at the vehicle operator’s expense.

• 21st St. between University Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• 24th St. between Whitis Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• 25th St. between Trinity St. and Robert Dedman Dr. 
• San Jacinto Blvd. between Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Dean Keeton St.
• Speedway between 24th St. and 27th St.
• Trinity St. between Deloss Dodds Wy. and Robert Dedman Dr.
• Whitis Ave. between 24th St. and Dean Keeton St.
• Wichita St. between Dean Keeton St. and 27th St.
• Winship Circle

San Jacinto Blvd., between Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Deloss Dodds Wy., will remain closed until Sunday, April 24. All other areas will be restricted until 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23.

Remaining official university vehicles will be relocated to Lot 40. All other vehicles will be relocated to Lot 108.

• 21st St. between University Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• San Jacinto Blvd. between Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Dean Keeton St.
• Speedway between 21st St. and 27th St.
• Wichita St. between Dean Keeton St. and 27th St.

Friday 11 p.m. - Saturday 11:59 p.m.:

• Clyde Littlefield Dr. between Robert Dedman Dr. and Red River St.
• Deloss Dodds Wy. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr. – eastbound lane
• Robert Dedman Dr. at 25th St. – commercial vehicle checkpoint
• San Jacinto Blvd. between Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Deloss Dodds Wy.

Saturday 3:30 a.m.-11 a.m.:

• 24th St. between Whitis Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• Whitis Ave. between 24th St. and Dean Keeton St.

Saturday 7 a.m.-11 a.m.:

The City of Austin will close/restrict access to the streets listed below.

• 21st St. between Whitis Ave. and University Ave.
• 27th St. between Whitis Ave. and Speedway
• Dean Keeton St. between Whitis Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. between University Ave. and San Jacinto Blvd.
• Speedway between 27th St. and 45th St.
• University Ave. between Dean Keeton St. and 27th St.
• Whitis Ave. between Dean Keeton St. and 27th St.

Traffic Congestion

Please expect increased traffic and congestion in the following locations beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23:

Permit Holders

Permit holders who need to park on Saturday, April 23, can park in the following garages from 7 a.m. until midnight:

• San Antonio Garage
• Speedway Garage
• 27th Street Garage

Garage Permit Restrictions

Access in or out of the following garages will be restricted Saturday 7 a.m.-11 a.m.

• Brazos Garage (BRG) - westbound on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. 
• San Jacinto Garage (SJG) - off of San Jacinto Blvd. 
• Speedway Garage (SWG) - on Speedway and along 27th St. 
• 27th Street Garage (TSG) - along 27th St.

Surface Permit Restrictions/Closures

• A Permits
  Access onto San Jacinto Blvd. will be restricted Friday 11 p.m. until Sunday.
• F Permits
  Access into the following areas will be restricted beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday.
