Bike to UT Day 1

Bike Month and BikeUT

May is recognized as National Bike Month. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to show the benefits of bicycling and a way to encourage more people to give biking a try!

In a normal year, Bike Month is kicked off here on campus in May with our annual Bike to UT Day. Bike to UT Day has historically been celebrated by handing out breakfast to those biking into campus and holding afternoon cycling festivities on Speedway Plaza. May usually offers the chance to promote various events and organizations around Austin and campus who are encouraging people to get out and get riding.

This year we are still encouraging people to get on a bike and ride. Whether it is for enjoyment, exercise, or taking essential trips, biking is a great way to build a healthy planet, a connected community, and a happy self.
