The University will host the 141st Commencement ceremonies beginning Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11. Graduates from 17 degree-granting colleges and schools will participate in convocation ceremonies that will affect parking and traffic at various times on all three days. The University-wide Commencement ceremony will be held at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium the evening of Saturday, May 11. To prepare for these celebratory events, please be aware of the restrictions listed below.
Street Closures
The listed streets will be closed on the schedule below.
Thursday, May 9 from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.:
- Robert Dedman Dr. between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the south side of DeLoss Dodds Wy.
- Clyde Littlefield Dr. between I-35 and Robert Dedman Dr.
- 20th St. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr.
Friday, May 10 from 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.:
- Robert Dedman Dr. between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the south side of DeLoss Dodds Wy.
- Clyde Littlefield Dr. between I-35 and Robert Dedman Dr.
- 20th St. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr.
- 21st St. between Guadalupe St. and San Jacinto Blvd. will be eastbound only.
Saturday, May 11 from 12 a.m. until 10 p.m.:
- Robert Dedman Dr. between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Dean Keeton St.
- San Jacinto Blvd. between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and 24th St.
- DeLoss Dodds Wy. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr.
- Clyde Littlefield Dr. between I-35 and Robert Dedman Dr.
- 20th St. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr.
- 21st St. between Guadalupe St. and San Jacinto Blvd. will be eastbound only.
- Trinity St. between DeLoss Dodds Wy. and Robert Dedman Dr.
Traffic Control
Expect to see both The University of Texas at Austin Police Department (UTPD) and the Austin Police Department (APD) staffing entrance points around campus to assist with traffic control.
Parking Options
To help the University community and visitors find parking, all University garages, except the Conference Center (CCG) and Nueces Garage (NUG), will be open and free to park Thursday, May 9 starting at 5 a.m. until Saturday, May 11 at 11:59 p.m.
