The Forty Acres will come alive this Saturday, September 12, as Texas Football takes the field at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium for a highly anticipated matchup with Ohio State. With a large crowd expected and activity throughout campus, parking restrictions, campus entry limitations, and towing will be in effect to help ensure a safe and smooth game day.

Longhorn Nation is gearing up for the start of another exciting Texas Football season on the Forty Acres. With the Longhorns’ season opener against Texas State bringing visitors to campus on Saturday, September 5, parking restrictions, campus entry limitations, and towing will be in effect to ensure events run smoothly and safely.

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is here to help you get around campus safely, conveniently, and sustainably. As the fall semester gets underway, the following are important updates and reminders about transportation options and safety resources available to students, faculty, and staff.

As a new academic year gets underway, the Forty Acres will come alive Sunday evening for Gone to Texas, the University’s annual celebration welcoming a new class to campus. To support the celebration, road closures will be in effect.

To keep everyone moving safely through campus, the University is implementing mobility changes that will take effect Aug. 24. These updates are intended to improve safety and create a more welcoming campus experience in the busiest areas of campus.

The Forty Acres will be bustling with activity from May 12 through May 17 as we host a series of major university, athletic, and public events. This exciting week will bring increased traffic, parking impacts, and street closures across campus. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to support these events safely and smoothly.

This is a reminder that Commencement ceremonies will take place Thursday, May 7 through Saturday, May 9, with events occurring across campus and the university-wide ceremony on Saturday evening at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. If you plan to be on or near campus, please prepare for significant traffic congestion, street closures, and delays throughout the three-day period.

The University will host its 143rd Commencement ceremonies from Thursday, May 7, through Saturday, May 9. Graduates from 17 degree-granting colleges and schools will participate in events across campus, culminating in the university-wide Commencement ceremony on the evening of Saturday, May 9, at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. Please review the information below and plan ahead, as major congestion and delays are expected for all individuals traveling to, from, or through campus during Commencement.

On Friday, April 24, the University will observe UT Remembers, a cherished tradition honoring students, faculty, staff, and retirees from The University of Texas at Austin community who have passed away in the past year. As the campus gathers in reflection, there will be temporary impacts to parking and traffic near the Main Building (MAI) and Tower, including along Inner Campus Drive (ICD).
