On Sunday, August 24, Inner Campus Drive (ICD) will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to support the University’s annual Gone to Texas celebration.
Gone to Texas is a cherished UT tradition and the formal kickoff to the Longhorn journey for new students. Each fall, thousands gather on the Main Mall to be welcomed by University leadership and to celebrate the beginning of their time at The University of Texas at Austin. This year’s program begins at 8:30 p.m. on the Main Mall, followed by a community celebration on the South Mall.
We appreciate your patience with this temporary closure as the Forty Acres comes together to create a safe and festive environment to welcome the newest members of the Longhorn family.
